Video che documenta la realizzazione del mosaico di Francesco Vezzoli, realizzato con paste vitree veneziane e marmo dall’Associazione Dis-ORDINE di Ravenna. L’opera è stata presentata il 2 ottobre 2025 presso l’Aula Magna dell’Università di Palermo, nell’ambito del progetto Crossing Border. Peoples on the Move. (Durata: 5:47)

A video documenting the making of Francesco Vezzoli’s mosaic work, created with Venetian glass pastes and marble by the Dis-ORDINE Association of Ravenna. Video della mostra “Luca Scacchi Gracco Artista e avventuriero” curata da Denis Isaia e Manuela Vallicelli presso il MART, museo d’arte moderna e contemporanea di Rovereto, da un’idea di Vittorio Sgarbi e Sergio Restelli. Nel video, realizzato interamente da me, ho inserito parte del discorso tenuto da Vittorio Sgarbi il giorno dell’inaugurazione il 6 dicembre 2023 presso l’auditorium del museo, (durata: 4:24).

Video of the exhibition “Luca Scacchi Gracco, Artist and Adventurer” curated by Denis Isaia and Manuela Vallicelli at MART, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rovereto, conceived by Vittorio Sgarbi and Sergio Restelli. In the video, which I entirely created, I included the speech given by Vittorio Sgarbi on the opening day, December 6, 2023, in the museum’s auditorium, (duration: 4:24).
“Suor Beatrice Alighieri, figlia di Dante”
Il video d’arte realizzato da Manuela Vallicelli su commissione del Soroptimist International Club Ravenna in occasione del 700° anniversario della morte di Dante Alighieri, è dedicato a sua figlia Antonia poi Suor Beatrice. Il video è stato girato a Ravenna, fra le testimonianze del passato, ancora oggi esistenti, entro cui suor Beatrice Alighieri visse, e che vide e frequentò, dalla cripta di San Francesco alle Mura di San Vitale, all’antico capitello del suo monastero di Santo Stefano degli Ulivi, conservato nell’orto; la sua esistenza nel chiostro è rievocata nel grande giardino monastico oggi delle Clarisse Cappuccine, come nel suono delle campane dell’antica basilica di San Giovanni Evangelista, che udì; o nei libri che forse potè leggere, testi sacri o, chissà, i versi della Commedia. L’unica testimonianza del suo nome, accostato a quello del padre Dante, è nelle poche parole che i documenti tramandano, (durata: 6:33).

“Sister Beatrice Alighieri, Dante’s daughter”
Manuela Vallicelli’s art video, commissioned by the Soroptimist International Club of Ravenna to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death, is dedicated to the poet’s daughter Antonia, later known as Sister Beatrice. The video was recorded in Ravenna, among what remains of the monuments which Beatrice Alighieri saw and frequented, from the crypt of San Francesco to the walls of San Vitale, and the ancient capitello from the garden of the Monastery of Santo Stefano degli Ulivi where she lived. Her presence in the cloisters can be sensed to this day in the monastery garden of the Capuchin Poor Clares and in the chimes of the bells she would have heard in the ancient Basilica of San Giovanni Evangelista. We can also feel her presence through the books she could have read, religious texts or, who knows, the verses of the Divine Comedy. The only remaining testament to her name, near that of her father, are to be found in a few documented words that have survived to this day, (duration: 6:33).

Video realizzato con riprese, foto e suoni della mia città vista a livello scenografico e architettonico. È stato proiettato per tre mesi alla sala video degli Antichi Chiostri Francescani, di fianco alla Tomba di Dante Alighieri nel programma della Biennale di Mosaico Contemporaneo a Ravenna nel 2019, (durata: 6:00).

Video created with footage, photos, and sounds of my city, showcasing its scenic and architectural aspects. It was screened for three months in the video room of the Ancient Franciscan Cloisters, next to Dante Alighieri’s Tomb, as part of the Contemporary Mosaic Biennial program in Ravenna in 2019, (duration: 6:00).
