Comunicato Stampa

Press Release
“Thirty years after the death of Jorge Luis Borges, the end of the world approaches Franco Maria Ricci’s Labyrinth.”
If we want to experience the End of the World, we have no choice but to imagine it in advance.
This is precisely what will happen at the Labyrinth of Franco Maria Ricci on September 9.
The world’s largest labyrinth will provide the exceptional setting for this event, both spectacular and apocalyptic, taking place thirty years after the death of Jorge Luis Borges. His last work published by Franco Maria Ricci, the famous and rare volume Finimondi, illustrated with the paintings of John Martin, will come to life in a stunning visual performance curated by the studio N!03. There will be appearances, cries echoing through the Labyrinth, mask incursions, and the renowned American group Sunn O))), with their dense and distorted atmospheres, will take care of the musical part, because the End will also be a Concert.
“In the catalog of my volumes,” explains the publisher, “the theme of the End recurs: just think of the Estense woodcut Apocalypse, the Spanish one by the Beatus of Liébana commented on by Umberto Eco, as well as Jorge Luis Borges’ Finimondi. The evening will draw on these impressive anticipations, and on a whole series of famous catastrophes (Sodom and Gomorrah, Pompeii, the fire of Lyon, the Lisbon earthquake…).”
